Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That company processes the request and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the related exchange. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, server and analytics records can capture ordinary technical details:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring site, when one is supplied
- Pages opened and approximate time spent on them
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure visits, popular pages, and where a session ends. Analytics providers combine this traffic into reports. A browser can reject cookies, though doing so may change how parts of the site work.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a search request to the selected partner service
- Maintain reliable, responsive pages
- Measure which material visitors use
- Diagnose errors and performance problems
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Colorado County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It describes official access through the Colorado County sheriff and clerks, Texas DPS, TDCJ, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal file, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules apply to information submitted through those tools. Review the provider's policy before running a query because those practices are outside our control.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to Colorado County offices, Texas agencies, courts, legal resources, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before providing personal details.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information can be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that serve page ads
- Search partners that receive a submitted query
- A government or law enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security measures protect collected data, but no internet system can be guaranteed secure. We cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such information is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer law may provide rights concerning personal data. Texas government record access is separately governed by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while criminal-history dissemination is limited by Government Code Chapter 411. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request deletion of eligible data
- Obtain a copy of personal information held about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Decline certain forms of processing where the law permits
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. A new version will appear here with its effective date, so visitors can review the current terms.
